‘Taken by the Hand’ is a collection of five worlds colliding for one unifying dance. Our movement represents time, its passage and its impact, our emotive performance is speckled with messages of community. As an opposition to the zeitgeist of youth, our film directly faces the topic of age. Its narrative celebrates our elders whilst hearing honest accounts of their place within today’s society and how their experiences with dance inform that. It is an unapologetic account of life, set to the backdrop of Tottenham. Screening followed by Q&A

It is now scientifically proven that Therapeutic Sound has a lot of potential to resonate with our own energy system on all levels of being: physically mentally and spiritually.
It can transform negativity into positivity and promote a state of wellbeing and the stimulation of dormant energies.
In sound therapy the participant becomes the focus of the session, the therapist facilitates an intention set at the beginning of the session.
Sound can help to dissolve heavy and stacked energies in the body, it can also be very beneficial to whom suffer from: chronic pain, stress, self esteem challenges, life transitions, anxiety, depression, limiting beliefs, conflict, spiritual stagnation. In most of the cases sound induces deep relaxation and guiding participants into a dimension away from time and space as a result one will feel that time has passed really quickly even though they might have experienced a full hour session.

Your body temperature will probably drop when you begin to rest so wear comfortable, warm clothing.

No meditation or sound bath experience required!
LATE-COMERS WILL BE NOT ALLOW IN ONCE THE SESSION START

Sound Salvej is Marco Florio. He lives in London and has achieved a Practitioner Level Diploma in Sound Therapy at the British Academy of Sound Therapy in 2012. He also attended many workshops related to sound; intensive Gong Training with Gong Granmaster Don Conreaux, crystal- clear overtones workshop with voice Artist/Teacher Natascha Nikeprelevic, Mongolian Khoomii (Overtone singing) with the UK most experienced Khoomii overtone singer Michael Ormiston, voice and Laughter workshop with LARAAJI and many more. It has been into sound in many ways since his very young age playing in rock Indi bands, making it’s own electronic computer based project, being a dj and a radio broadcaster. After all these experiences with sound he decided to discover a different meaning to all of it and he found out that sound could benefit our self and others. The use of ancient organic instruments like the Gong and the Himalayan bowls immediately clicked with him and pointed him in the way to work with sound not only for the sake of fun but for a whole magical new experience, hope you can share with him all this new world. Marco has hold Sound Bath and Gong Bath in London, he worked with yoga teachers and Yoga centre in London such as TripSpace, The Well Garden, East of Eden, Project Me and other private venue where he organise Sound Bath and also made sound Workshop.

Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin throughout many years, parallel to his work as a choreographer and artistic director (1990-2018) of Batsheva Dance Company. Gaga originated from Naharin’s need to communicate with his dancers and his curiosity in the ongoing research of movement.
Gaga classes are predicated on a deep listening to the body and to physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Inside this shared research, the improvisational nature of the exploration enables each participant’s deeply personal connection with Gaga.

Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and imagination. The classes offer a workout that investigates form, speed, and effort while traversing additional spectrums such as those between soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive power, and understatement and exaggeration. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, and improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and they are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. The language of Gaga is in a continual process of evolution, and the classes vary and develop accordingly.

Information about the class:
Gaga/people classes are open to people ages 16+, regardless of their background in dance or movement.

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to dance barefoot or in socks. It is advisable to bring a bottle of water and a towel for use after class.

Anoushka was born in South East London. She began her training at the Centre for Advanced Training at Trinity Laban and the National Youth Dance Company, where she worked with Akram Khan and Andrej Petrovic to create and tour ‘The Rashomon Effect’. The following year she studied on the Foundation Course at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and was simultaneously a member of WatkinsDance Associates. She then travelled to Israel, attending the International Dance Journey Programme with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and shortly afterwards to Italy, where she danced at Nuova Officina della Danza (NOD). She returned to England in 2017 to become a member of JV2 under the direction of Marilena Dara and David Lloyd, and toured pieces by Jasmin Vardimon, Yung Kung Song and André Rebelo. She has also performed in works by Rami Be’er, Botis Seva, Olga Stetsyuk and Megan Doheny and collaborates with Hadassah Perry.

Anoushka graduated from the Gaga Teacher Training Programme in 2020, under the artistic direction of Bosmat Nossan, Saar Harari and Ohad Naharin.

A lover of adventure, and curious about the process of discovering more- be that physically, artistically or personally, Anoushka hopes to create a generous environment where participants feel deeply cared for yet hugely pushed.
