Expect great tunes, potential dad dancing & definite strutting of your funky stuff! Will you jump onto the Disco Dot and show us what you’ve got?

Boogie Booth is an outdoor live performance and dance experience. Visitors will meet our resident Boogie Boothers, Phantom Mercury & Dorothy, experts in the bum wiggle and the shoulder shimmy! They will take you on a spectacular tour through the world of dance from Jazz, to Hip-Hop, to Ballet, to Contemporary dance, all within the magical Boogie Booth.

Boogie Booth features original music, popular music, professional dance theatre, and accessible dance participation (with optional integrated BSL).

Bio

Jodie Cole Dance is a female led inclusive dance theatre company that creates joyful spaces for everyone to be part of. Jodie Cole Dance are an agent for change, an inhibition loosener, a movement “sponteneyaniser”, and they bring performance to unexpected places.

Inspired by the healing powers of movement and social divides, they celebrate difference and use movement to unite experience. Audiences leave saying “they made me want to see more” (Sarah Crompton, The Telegraph), and “You cannot help but instantly like them” (The Dance Enthusiast).

Jodie is a working-class choreographer, movement director, and producer. She joined Extraordinary Bodies as Jerwood Creative Fellow in 2021 and created the community film for Human, worked with Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists on ‘Till We Win, and supported the first design and delivery of the Connecting Communities co-evaluation programme. Jodie has continued beyond her fellowship as co-evaluation producer with the Unexpected Leaders, helping to develop diverse leadership for the cultural sector as well as developing creative and inclusive ways of gathering feedback.

Jodie is an inclusive researcher and practitioner of movement and dance with extensive experience teaching in SEND settings (special educational needs and disabilities). She currently runs workshops and movement sessions for institutions across the UK, movement directs on theatre shows, leads her own projects, disco dances at festivals, and mentors’ young people in her hometown of Margate.
